The New York Times is reporting the presence of real ice on Mars: "Heated to 32 degrees Fahrenheit, a sample of soil being analyzed by NASA’s Phoenix Mars lander let out a puff of vapor, providing final confirmation that the lander is sitting over a large chunk of ice."
Rico says this is only going to add fuel to the desire to send men to Mars; soon, he hopes, as in while he's alive to see it... (And soon, he hopes, while the news can spark interest in his father's book on the space program.)
