What friends are for, if you're lucky

Had a phone conversation with an old friend with whom I also do some business (they make my badges), and we were discussing my recent near-death-experience.
She actually got a little choked up when she said how happy they were that I hadn't died. My only possible response: "Me, too."
It does give you pause, when you stop to think about it, how close you can come and not actually die. Whatever I've got left (and that's the big unknown for all of us, ain't it?), I'm gonna do the best I can with it, so hide and watch. It's gonna be interesting...
