Wisdom, of a sort

My friend Bob sent around one of those lists of phrases of supposed wisdom, at least some of which are funny. Rico says he liked these:

Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have.
How many of you believe in psycho-kinesis? Raise my hand.
Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Why do psychics have to ask you your name?
