Even though the elevator was really the problem, the kid (shown here with his sister) shouldn't have tried to climb out of the elevator. But hell, he was only five (and now won't ever get any older), so what did he know?

Jacob and Israel were headed to the Central United Talmudic Academy when the elevator became stuck between the 10th and 11th floors, police said.
The older boy began pressing the elevator's buttons, and the doors opened. The 5-year-old managed to squeeze through a small opening and jump to the 10th-floor landing - but he lost his balance and tumbled down the shaft, police said.
