Things you wouldn't think would freeze

Rico's former Claris co-worker Kit forwards a Weather.com article by Camille Mann about soap bubbles, frozen:
What happens to soap bubbles in freezing temperatures? Photographer Angela Kelly and her son decided to test out that question one morning near their home in Arlington, Washington. “This whimsical series happened entirely on that, a whim. I had often wondered if it were possible for bubbles to freeze and upon hearing that we were due for an arctic blast I decided that it would be a perfect time to test out my theory,” Kelly told Weather.com.
Kelly and her seven-year-old son Connor mixed up their own homemade bubble solution and the next morning, while they were waiting for his schoolbus to arrive, they began blowing bubbles. “We found that certain surfaces worked better than others. The hood of my SUV and our patio table served as the perfect stage and viewing point to the amazing show,” said Kelly. “We watched in fascination and awe as each of the bubbles froze, taking on their own patterns and characteristics; each one different from the next.”
While the photographer’s favorite time to photograph is in the morning when the sun is beginning to rise, during this project the sunrise became a hindrance. “For this series (see the rest here), we found that the moment the sun began to shine on the bubbles, they would begin to defrost, or cease freezing altogether,” she said.
But there were other outside elements that they could control: their kittens. “We have two young kittens that we refer to as the Twin Terrors,” she explained. “They were relentless in their quest to chase and attack every bubble that errantly landed on the ground and, at one point, one of them had jumped up onto the table we were using and began attacking the bubbles we had waiting to freeze.  The offending kitten was immediately returned to the house with the door firmly closed.”
Rico says in the 'never thought that would work' category... (But his cats would either ignore them, or, like hers, try and pop them.)
