Rico says it always amazes him to find august institutions like The New York Times (who surely should know better by now: "The first edition of the newspaper The New York Times, published on 18 September 1851, stated: "We publish today the first issue of the New-York Daily Times, and we intend to issue it every morning (Sundays excepted) for an indefinite number of years to come."") using improper English grammar, especially the use of apostrophe-s, even when quoting themselves, like "as noted in The Times's article". Then there's the 'whose transliteration will we use today' phenomenon, giving us Qaddafi, Gaddafi, Khaddafi, and numerous others, let alone the bunch of different ways to spell al-Qaeda or al-Qaida...
