Isn't this a capital offense?

Seems that the former Paul R. Hall, an ex-sailor previously a signalman aboard the USS Benfold, changed his name to Hassan abu Jihaad and then proceeded to leak details about ship movements of various US Navy ships through the Strait of Hormuz to 'suspected terrorism supporters'. He's been convicted and will be sentenced on 23 May.
