First snow of the season?

Emily Babay has an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer about winter:

Some Philadelphia-area residents could wake up Tuesday to the first snowflakes of the season. Forecasters are calling for rain showers this evening throughout the region. In some places, that rain may turn to snow, or a mix of rain and snow, overnight into Tuesday morning, as a cold front from Canada moves south. That front will affect much of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, with the potential for snow from Boston to Washington.
"Accompanying this front will be very gusty winds and perhaps the first snowflakes of the season for some along the I-95 corridor," according to AccuWeather meteorologist Anthony Sagliani, who cautions that any precipitation overnight "is not going to be a major snow event", but people should "not be surprised if you wake up on Tuesday morning and there are a few snowflakes in the air as you head out to your car."
Around Philadelphia, the National Weather Service says snow is most likely in areas north and west of the city, including western Montgomery and upper Bucks counties. Light accumulation is possible in the southern Poconos and northwest New Jersey.
The weather service cautions that overnight low temperatures are expected to be at or near freezing in much of the area, so even just rain may lead to a slick Tuesday-morning commute. Forecasters expect any precipitation to end by mid-morning Tuesday.
The high temperature in Philadelphia today should reach 54 degrees, the weather service said. Tuesday's high is expected to be just 43. For the rest of the week, forecasters are calling for highs of 44 degrees Wednesday, 52 on Thursday and 57 on Friday.
