Explosions in Beirut

David Stout has a Time article about the latest bombing in Beirut:
At least two explosive devices were detonated outside the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon earlier this morning, killing up to 23 people and injuring over 140, according to Reuters. Initial reports suggested rockets were fired, but a car bomb is now thought to be the cause of the explosion.
The district near the Iranian Embassy is a Hizbollah enclave. Iran is a major backer of the Shit'te militia group Hizballah and embattled Syrian President Bashar Assad, supplying weapons and operational support to their forces who are engaged a bitter civil war with Islamist and jihadi rebel brigades across Syria.
Rico says a few more like this, and Beirut won't be the Paris of the East any more...
