Japanese joke

Rico says that, when he went to Japan, back when he worked for Claris, to coordinate the translation of some of our software, he had the necessity to ask (in public) what would have been a racially- insensitive question, and thus used the phrase "Estimated Time of Arrival", rather than its acronym ETA, to refer to what, as he'd correctly guessed, were 'eta', the original inhabitants of Japan before the Asians arrived, rather like our Native Americans and the Europeans in this country.
