One protester said he and others were calling for “more economic justice, social justice, as far as feeding the poor and health care for the sick.” Another protester, a former Marine who was elected by Occupy Wall Street participants to speak for them, told NPR that he wanted to overthrow the government and reconstruct it. These big ideas may get lost, now that labor unions and other established interests are joining forces with Occupy Wall Street, bringing their more concrete demands.This all puts Rico in mind of his own younger days (some forty years ago now), when he went out into the streets of Palo Alto, California with a crowd of demonstrators and ended up being arrested (along with hundreds of others) and going to jail in San Jose for the night; everyone was released, without a record, because it seems the cops forgot to give the proper 'cease your riot' warnings before initialing the arrests...
