Too young, too far away
Rico says he was only seven when Walter Washington Williams, supposedly the last surviving veteran of the Civil War, died in 1959 in Texas, aged either 104 or 117, depending on who was doing the figuring. That's why there wasn't a chance in hell that the two of them could've met, alas, but we honor him today on the internet with every URL that starts with www... (Just kidding, but I'm sure he'd appreciate it.)
