They make it up as they go along

The BBC has a report on the latest dig at Stonehenge. While the 'Neolithic Lourdes' premise is pretty wacky (okay, okay, really wacky), the carbon dating of the site to 2300BCE is good. The Hawkins' book, Stonehenge Decoded, covered this whole territory back in the mid-60s and it still the best word on the subject, even though they're still arguing over whether or not 'the monument was a shrine to worship ancestors, or a calendar to mark the solstices'.

Rico says he was there in the late 60s, and it sure looked like Hawkins was right...
