Okay, not from her house

Slate magazine has an article by Nina Shen Rastogi about whether you can, in fact, see Russia from Alaska. Turns out, if you're on Little Diomede, you can, and we've got photos (above) to prove it. Not exactly Sarah Palin's house (per the SNL skit), but it is Russia. In the winter, you can even walk there, assuming you wanted to.

Rico says he's not sure if there are KGB border guards on Big Diomede (probably not; it's cold there, even in the summer), but take your passport anyway...
