The end of the world has been delayed

Some have posited terrible things once CERN gets their Large Hadron Collider working.
Apparently it malfunctioned within hours of its launch, and they're going to have to warm it up to "well above absolute zero" to work on it.

Rico says that's good; he so hates working with cold fingers...
