Civil War News had a front-page article in their July issue about the intention of a mining company (O-N Minerals Chemstone, a subsidiary of Carmeuse Lime & Stone, originally from Belgium but now based, probably for tax reasons, in Luxembourg) to dig "a 2.5 to 3 mile hole in the ground" within the confines of the battlefield area at Cedar Creek, Virginia.

Oil?
Gold?
Uranium?
Nope.
