Moron of the week

Kent Couch likes to fly, and uses a lawn chair and over 150 giant balloons filled with helium to do it. Going up is easy; coming down takes skill with a BB-gun. He just did over 200 miles from eastern Oregon into Idaho yesterday, landing safely in a pasture.
"This was Couch's third balloon flight. He realized it would be possible after watching a TV show about the 1982 lawn chair flight over Los Angeles of truck driver Larry Walters, who gained folk hero fame but was fined $1,500 for violating air traffic rules. In 2006, Couch had to parachute out after popping too many balloons. And last year he flew 193 miles to northeastern Oregon, short of his goal. "I'm not stopping till I get out of state," he said."

Rico says there's a certain kind of craziness required for this kind of thing; he had it as a child, but lost it somewhere along the way, fortunately, before it got him killed...
