al-Reuters has an article about the Dalai Lama not being invited to the Olympics. It's in China, after all, and they're so threatened by this one man that he can't come to the Olympics in case people get excited: China fears he would steal Chinese President Hu Jintao's thunder. "It's supposed to be Hu Jintao's Olympics, but it'll become the Dalai Lama's Olympics if he attends", a source familiar with government policy said, requesting anonymity.
Rico says it's not anybody's Olympics, but the Chinese will never understand that. Between this issue and the pollution, this may turn out to be a sad Olympics. Not as sad as Munich in 1968, but sad...
