Whew

The Independent has an interesting article on the 'real' risks of AIDS among heterosexuals. Apparently, outside Africa, it's low: "In the first official admission that the universal prevention strategy promoted by the major AIDS organisations may have been misdirected, Kevin de Cock, the head of the WHO's department of HIV/AIDS said there will be no generalised epidemic of Aids in the heterosexual population outside Africa."

Rico says it must be how his head works, otherwise why does the "WHO's department" phrase evoke that old "WHO's on first" joke... (Of course, having a doctor named de Cock running it is probably a joke waiting to be made, too.)
