Another great one gone
Paul Scofield died in March. (Rico missed it at the time, obviously, but he's catching up.) While it's hard to pick his best role, there are certain movies that will forever resonate because he was in them: The Train (a little-known gem, also starring Burt Lancaster; Rico highly recommends it), A Man for All Seasons (perhaps his best), and The Crucible. According to the International Movie Database, he hasn't made a picture since 1999, but his fame will live on long after him...
