In the "someone really cares about this shit?" category, a New York Times on-line article covers a shakeup at Golfweek over the editors choice of a cover illustrating a Tiger Woods article:
Rico admits it's not very tasteful, given the recent hoohah over nooses in schools and historical lynching issues, but it seems a fair response to a remark made by a reporter on the Golf Channel, Kelly Tilghman, that one way for young golfers to stop Tiger Woods is to “lynch him in a back alley".
Rico says they didn't need to try so hard "to convey the controversial issue with a strong and provocative graphic image". And, in contrast to the magazine editor getting fired, reporter Tilghman only received a two-week unpaid suspension...
