Movie review for the day

Rico says he and the ladyfriend went to see Nebraska, starring Bruce Dern (photo at left), in which an aging, booze-addled father (played by Dern) makes a trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son in order to claim a million-dollar Mega Sweepstakes Marketing prize. (The prize was bogus, of course, but they had to drive a thousand miles to prove it to him.)
Dern's movie mother (played by June Squibb, photo at right) reminded both Rico and the ladyfriend of Rico's own mother, complete with a big 'f-bomb' scene with the small-minded locals in their hometown...
But the big surprise of the well-crafted and well-acted film was that it was shot completely in black and white; it's been a long time since Rico saw one of those that wasn't on TCM...
