The people have spoken, damn them

From a letter to the editor out of Delaware: "Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are saying this political season has nothing to do with race. Actually, it has everything to do with race. Hillary thinks you should vote for her because Bill was the first 'black' president. I believe Obama thinks he deserves your vote simply because he is black. Neither of them have earned your vote because they have not been in office long enough between them. Obama has only three years experience as a senator, and Hillary, despite her claim that she has more, has only been in office since January 2001. This is not long enough to get elected and get the job done. Both of them talk a good game, but, as we all know, talk is cheap. If you must vote for one of the Democratic candidates, race is not important. If Obama is the nominee, he will be the only candidate a Democrat can vote for; his color will not matter. However, I do not believe the folks in our southern states will be as kind to him when the real election takes place. Hillary is in the same boat. Men are not as likely to vote for her. The Democrats have gotten all the attention because there is an actual race for the nomination. The real race starts after the conventions."

Rico says the man's right. But, then, elections aren't about who should be president, but who runs...
