The CBS Sunday Morning show had a great, if short, piece on cowboy action shooting. (Click the link to see the video of the segment; alas, I couldn't embed it in my site.) According to the show (and who am I to doubt the researchers at CBS?), there are now over 80,000 SASS shooters. That makes my 7657 member number look pretty good. But it's still way too much fun.Rico says he's looking forward to getting back to it come June...

There was too much focus on the obsession the members had with the west and not enough on the shooting skills. It made the SASS look like a bunch a nutty grownups who like to dress up and play with guns.
Hell, we are a bunch of nutty grownups who like to dress up and play with guns. The fact that some of us can actually shoot (and I do not include myself in that category) is only incidental.
