Ah, zee French, they do know how to whine

According to the International Herald Tribune, the president of France (or, more properly, his party spokesman) is in a war with Agence France-Presse (AFP), the biggest news agency in the country. The issue? Why the agency didn't publish a press release about one of Sarkozy's election rivals: "The latest feud began May 1, when the spokesman of Sarkozy's Union for a Popular Movement party wrote an open letter demanding an explanation for AFP's decision not to pick up a press release about Ségolène Royal, Sarkozy's Socialist rival in the presidential election last year. The release had called on the Socialist Party to sanction Royal after a court ruled April 10 that she had owed two former aides several months of pay since 1997."

Ségolène Royal? Rico says we just don't get candidates with names like that in this country. Oh, yeah, forgot one: Barack Hussein Obama...
