Elvira Madigan is a 1967 Swedish film directed by Bo Widerberg, based on the tragedy of the Danish tightrope dancer Hedvig Jensen (born in 1867), who worked under the stage name of Elvira Madigan in her stepfather's traveling circus, who runs away with the Swedish nobleman and Army lieutenant Sixten Sparre (born in 1854).

Rico says that sometimes he hears things in his head (not that it means he's crazy, much), and today it was the name Sixten Sparre, which was a character in the movie Elvira Madigan, which Rico saw when it came out:
