Rico and the fiancé went to see Mr. Holmes (on opening night, no less), and Ian McKellan was brilliant, as ever:
An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman.
Rico says it's beautifully filmed (with great shots of the White Cliffs of Dover*) and, though a tangled story, brilliant...
(The swimmer who pops up twice in the movie Help!, asking for the White Cliffs of Dover, once in the Alps, and once in the Bahamas, was Mal Evans, road manager for The Beatles.)
An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes (played by Ian McKellen) looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman.
Rico says it's beautifully filmed, and McKellen is, as ever, brilliant. As Joe Bob Briggs would say, see it now...
