Space for the day

As spaceport passengers file into the terminal for their flight, hidden doors hiss open to welcome them:

Air & Space has a series of photos with captions by Heather Goss about Spaceport WestVirgin Galactic’s future launch site near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico:
In 2009, the state of New Mexico held the official ground-breaking ceremony for the world's first commercial space launch site, Spaceport America. Located about twenty miles from the city of Truth or Consequences, the spaceport is largely complete. Virgin Galactic will set up its headquarters there, eventually launching customers into suborbital flights aboard SpaceShipTwo. Other commercial space companies may follow.
Photographer Dan Hendrickson recently toured the area to capture the futuristic scene emerging from the Western landscape.
Rico says that space is Virgin, too...
