Chelsea Clinton isn't pushing her mom to make a quick decision about the 2016 presidential race. She told attendees at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington that she wants her mother, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to have time to rest. "I am very strongly exercising my prerogative as a daughter to make sure my mom has this year to rest and reflect," she said.
Chelsea offered no hints as to what the Secretary might be thinking about another run for President, saying she was confident her mother would "make the right choice."
Polls show that Hillary Clinton would be the instant favorite for the Democratic nomination, should she run for the White House.
Chelsea Clinton, who campaigned for her mom in the 2008 presidential race, said she wasn't sure if she would make a bid for public office herself one day. "I don't know is the honest answer," she said, adding that "people have been asking that question for as long as I can remember."
Most of her twenty minute talk was focused on the work of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation.
