Movie review for the day
Rico says he's been rewatching (in preparation for, hopefully, seeing Amour, with Jean-Louis Trintignant sixty years older) A Man and a Woman (without the ladyfriend, alas, who says she doesn't like 'romantic' movies; hah). It held up pretty good, given that Rico first saw it when it came out, when he was fifteen; it was the first movie that Rico remembers seeing with people actually having sex. (And Aimée is probably why he married his now-deceased ex-wive; they're look-alikes.) He had forgotten, however, how much of a Ford commercial it was, with Jean-Louis Trintignant (photo, at right) a test driver for their team. It did have in it two of Rico's list of beautiful things, however; Anouk Aimée (photo, at left) and the Ford GT-40 (the original, photo below).
