Obscure, but interesting
Rico says he'd never even heard of the movie, but watched it with the ladyfriend on Turner Classic Movies last night: A Face in the Crowd, made in 1957 and starring a bunch of later-famous folks, including Andy Griffith as 'Lonesome' Rhodes (in a far better role than anything he did later), Patricia Neal, Anthony Franciosa, Walter Matthau, and Lee Remick (as a baton-twirling ingenue, in her first movie role). There were smaller parts by unexpected people, too: Bennett Cerf, Orval Faubus, Betty Furness, Burl Ives, Sam Levenson, Charles Nelson Reilly, John Cameron Swayze, Rip Torn, Mike Wallace, and Walter Winchell.
