Rico says that he and three of his friends (David Brown, David's father Malcolm Brown, and Rodney Furmanski) formed a small (four-man) self-defense skills-acquisition group back in 1995 called the .357 Ryu (ryu being the Japanese word for school).
We did a lot of close-quarters combat practice at the local gub range, and honed a lot of skills we've, fortunately, never had to use.
Word is that Rod was recently killed by a gunshot.
He was a nice guy, and Rico says he, for one, shall miss him...

The word is now that the shot was self-inflicted, in his garage.
