Rico says today is the 165th anniversary of the first telegram, sent from Baltimore to Washington on 24 May 1844 by Samuel F.B. Morse:
What hath God wraught?
The company he formed, Western Union, went out of the telegram business on 27 January 2006, after a long series of financial machinations that left it doing only money transfers. Today, of course, the text message has replaced the telephone for the new generation; Samuel would be proud...
