As Beats is being bought by Apple, Bose is suing Beats Electronics over the noise-canceling technology in Beats’ headphones.
Bose filed suit in a US District Court in Delaware, claiming that Beats violated five different patents in the manufacture of its line of Studio noise-canceling headphones. The patents in question are for technology such as Dynamically Configurable ANR Filter Block Technology” and Digital High Frequency Phase Compensation.
Bose is seeking an injunction to prevent Beats from selling the products it says violate its patents, as well as an award for damages.
Apple agreed to buy Beats for three billion dollars in May of 2014. The deal is still pending regulatory approval.
