Collapse is scary, true

Rico says that we need to remember, in the midst of the crash of so many regimes in the Middle East, that we went through a similar scary time when the Soviet Union collapsed. People thought it would surely bring on another World War, or the end of civilization, or something terrible. Mostly, it was just hard on the people involved, just as it is now on those going through it in the Islamic countries.
