ABCNews.com has an article by Lisa Stark and Sarah Netter about the latest foiled hijacking:
A gunman who held five crew members of CanJet Flight 918 hostage overnight at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, surrendered this morning and everyone aboard the plane was released safely. Authorities reportedly boarded the plane and disarmed the gunman, and he is currently being held in police custody. The man initially took all 182 people onboard the flight hostage before eventually releasing the passengers, leaving the five crew members on the Boeing 737.
An ancillary article by Howard Campbell elaborates:
Police say a gunman who hijacked a plane in Jamaica has been captured after an eight-hour standoff with police. Police spokeswoman Camille Tracey says authorities disarmed the young man whom authorities described as "mentally challenged".
