The
BBC has a
video by
Steve Evans about a film festival in an unlikely place:
Eighty years after Nazi propaganda films were made and given to Hitler as a gift, they are again being screened in Berlin, Germany.
The audience must attend a lecture and a debate before the screening, a move that some say is patronizing.
Rico says he's surprised that
any Nazi films can be shown in Germany, especially
Berlin; the de-nazification
rules should have barred that:
e. All archives, monuments, and museums of Nazi inception, or which are
devoted to the perpetuation of German militarism, will be taken under your control
and their properties held pending decision as to their disposition by the Control
Council.
f. You will make special efforts to preserve from destruction and take
under your control records, plans, books, documents, papers, films, and scientific,
industrial, and other information and data.
