Another good one gone

Rico says that his stepfather, Peter Medlicott Wilson, died of brain cancer (they think; no autopsy) on Valentine's Day this year.
Fortunately, Rico's mother was not a big celebrant of Valentine's Day, so it won't be spoiled (much) for her in future.

Peter was a sweet man, and a veteran of an unusual unit (Army Engineers who landed ahead of the troops, including on the mainland of Japan only days after Nagasaki) in World War Two, and will be missed.
