History for the day

On 16 July 1918, Russia's Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Alix, their five children (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei, the Tsarevich), the family's medical doctor, the Tsar's valet, the Empress' lady-in-waiting, and the family's cook were executed by the Bolsheviks.

Rico says he's long been writing (and will, some day, finish) a novel about the aftermath of this event, to be called The Next-to-last Tsar.
