Quantifying the problem

Rico says that, as bad as abortions are (no one actually wants one, especially the fetus), they're still better than the alternative: unwanted children. But, since there are politicians who dislike them, there is an honorable alternative: all legislators should be forced to accept, as their dependents, all children born to mothers who otherwise would have had an abortion.
Given the number of abortions in this country (over a million a year) and the number of Congresspeople (fixed, by law, at 535), that works out to about 2.000 kids per Congressperson per year...
Then let's see how fast they can vote for government-supported abortions, AFDC, etc...
