Tedious reading

Rico says he hates not finishing a book, and The Cooler by George Markstein is the first one in a long time that he's been tempted to put down unfinished.
Not because it's not well written, nor that it has characters you don't care about, but because the story is so depressing, and you keep wishing he'd just kill off the bad guys and get it over with...
Not gonna happen, so Rico supposes he'll have to soldier on and finish the damn thing, just to find out what happens. (Without giving away the plot, D-Day was successful and we won the Second World War, so some things obviously didn't happen that might have...)
