Looks like the standoff between Obama and Clinton may get even uglier, if they go into the convention essentially tied for first.
Seems there are 796 'super delegates', party insiders not elected by any vote, who could decide the nomination.
The party chairman is Howard Dean, whose own campaign went on the rocks early. He's saying they'll take the candidates to the woodshed by April if there's no clear winner, and hopes they can 'work it out'.
Given the ugly arguments over the delegations from Florida and Michigan (where Obama didn't even appear on the ballot), neither of whom had sanctioned primaries due to squabbles over timing with the Democratic National Committee, Rico isn't sure how this is going to all pan out, but it can't hurt the Republicans.
Now if only they'd nominated Fred...
