Seems Toshiba is running scared, now that everyone is defecting to the BluRay camp, and is slashing pricing on its HD DVD players as a way for consumers "to get their existing DVD libraries to look better".
As I recall, Sony went down in flames the same way, insisting that their technology was better (which it was) and deserved to win the video wars (which it didn't).
Rico says he guesses he's going to have to buy a new DVD player now, the bastards...
