Saw Charlie Wilson's War tonight. For all of its rah-rah-sis-boom-Russkies attitude, a suprisingly somber and almost depressing movie. For a guy who drinks Talisker single-malt and screws Julia Roberts, you'd think he'd've been happier about it, especially after helping to take down the Russian Empire in Afghanistan.
But, as my ladyfriend pointed out, Charlie was a drunk, and drunks are never totally happy...
He did, however, help the Afghans win one for the Gipper.
Of course, they turned around and became the Taliban...
Win some, lose some, Charlie.
