A forgotten genius

Just finished watching Culloden by the filmmaker Peter Watkins. He was famous, twenty years ago, for a series of films he made for the BBC on historical events, done in pseudo-documentary style, mostly in black & white.
This one was as good as any of the others, and terribly gruesome and depressing (and therefore true to life).
I have yet to watch The War Game and The Gladiators (known as Gladiatoerna when I saw it, first run, in Stockholm back in 1970), but I'm sure they'll be as good (and depressing) as I remember.
