Rico says that he recently had to have an
X-ray taken (the above image is
not him), to re-examine an old injury. While much of the process was as expected (the operator retreating into a shielded booth to avoid exposure, after erecting a stand to shield
Rico's nether regions from the beam), somewhere in the process
Rico realized that there was
not the standard
thud of installing a fresh film magazine.
Upon inquiry, the technician said that film was now a thing of the past, and that the imaging was done via a large sensor in the vertical backplate.
Amazing...
