Movie reviews for the day

Rico says that he and the ladyfriend watched two movies (it was a slow day) back-to-back: The Social Network and Smoke Signals.

The Social Network had a bunch of mostly unknowns (except for, gag, Justin Timberlake in a minor role) in it, but revealed the convoluted history of the founding of Facebook (assuming you cared; since Rico doesn't do Facebook, it was only of historical interest. The ladyfriend is a big fan of Facebook, however, so it was interesting to her):

Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg creates the social networking site that would become known as Facebook, but is later sued by two brothers who claimed he stole their idea, and the cofounder who was later squeezed out of the business.
Though we'd seen it before, Smoke Signals was worth rewatching:

Young Indian man Thomas is a nerd in his reservation, wearing oversize glasses and telling everyone stories no one wants to hear. His parents died in a fire in 1976, and Thomas was saved by Arnold. Arnold soon left his family (and his tough son, Victor), and Victor hasn't seen his father for ten years. When Victor hears that Arnold has died, Thomas offers him funding for the trip to get Arnold's remains, but only if Thomas can go with him. Thomas and Victor hit the road.
Rico says that, years after seeing it the first time, he still remembered Thomas' voice imploringly saying Victor!,... As sweet film, and well worth watching.
