More gub crap

The Times has an article by Sean O'Neill about firearms laws in the UK:
Acpo has today announced that the Olympic .38 BB handgun, a starting pistol which is being converted to fire live rounds, is to be made illegal under the Firearms Act 1968, after being linked to three attempted murders and scores of other shootings.
According to NaBIS, 179 converted Olympics have been seized across England and Wales in the past three years. A small number have also been seized by police in Scotland, but there is to be no ban north of the border. If this gun is considered a threat to public safety in England and Wales, you might be forgiven for asking what, exactly, is the Scottish administration waiting for?
Rico says if a florescent-orange gub isn't enough to make someone notice (and converting what appears to be a plastic gub to fire real ammunition would be far too scary), what is?
