The Star has an article about plans for the 2010 Winter Games:

Plans are afloat to use cruise ships to house tourists and Olympic staff in the face of a shortage of hotel rooms for the 2010 Winter Games. Olympic organizers have formally issued a request for a charter vessel to be docked in nearby Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, during the Games to house a few hundred workers. But with just over a year to go until the Olympics, it's uncertain whether there are enough boats to go around if more rooms are needed.
