Rico says he was flipping channels over breakfast this morning and A Farewell to Arms (the 1932 version starring Gary Cooper and Helen Hayes) was on. A big Hemingway fan, he decided to watch awhile. He remembered another version and had to look it up; it was made in 1957 and 'starred' Rock Hudson as Lieutenant Henry. No wonder he didn't remember it... (There was also a mini-series done in the 60s that 'starred' George Hamilton in the lead role. He didn't want to remember that, even though Vanessa Redgrave, in a role he's sure she lamented doing, played Catherine Barkley and Donald Sutherland played Sim.) They need to do another modern version, with some real actors...
